Cashless Catering

We operate a cashless catering system in school which speeds up payment at the tills and reduces queuing time. Please note you can now view the canteen purchase history via our online payment system, Scopay.

Simply log in to your son/daughter’s account and select “View History” from the School Meals section under “ACCOUNT BALANCES”.

If you have not yet registered for a Scopay account, please contact the finance department on 01257 414455 or finance@southlands.lancs.sch.uk for a copy of the instructions and your son/daughter’s unique “Link Code”. 

How the Cashless System works

Each student is allocated a 4 digit pin-code which allows them to access the system.  Please ensure your child is made aware that their pin number is confidential and should not be disclosed.  Should they forget their pin number they need to speak to Mrs White, Mrs Heyes or Miss Kenyon in the school Finance Office. 

To purchase food and drinks in the canteen the student will input their PIN code at the till point, the display will show the till operator the student’s photograph, name, class and current cash balance held within the system.  The till operator will enter the selected food items onto the till and the amount spent and the new cash balance will show on the display for the student to view.  Students can check their balance and add cash into either of the two revaluers located by the dining hall.

Daily Spend Limit

There is a daily spend limit of £5.00 programmed into the system.  However, parents/carers wishing to decrease or increase the limit for their child should either send a letter into the Finance Office outlining the change they require or email Southlandshs@MidshireCatering.co.uk

How to put money into an account

Free School Meal Allocations

The system works in exactly the same way for all students whether they pay or have a free school meal.  All students have their own account.  For those students who have been approved by the local authority to be entitled to a free school meal, the amount allocated for the free school meal will only be accessible at lunch time, the free school meal amount will only show at the till point.  Any missed meals or underspends will be identified by the system and will be reset.  Additional allocations can be added to the students account for spend at breakfast, break or additional lunch purchases by either payment online or by inputting cash into one of the ‘Revaluer’ machines.
